Alison Tair is a born-and-raised New Yorker with a passion for building community and making a meaningful impact. With a background in marketing and strategy management, she now works in the beauty industry as an eCommerce Account Manager, overseeing retailer partnerships for top beauty brands. An executor, planner, and natural connector, she thrives on bringing people together and creating lasting relationships.

She believes in the power of a ‘third space’—a place beyond home and work to foster connection, purpose, and service. It’s in that third space, just like in that second mile, where we find ultimate fulfillment that other spaces may not be able to fill. She is eager to go the second mile in NYC and contribute to something greater than herself.

Outside of work, Alison is passionate about staying active, exploring the city, and carving out time to connect with others through faith and fitness. She loves discovering new beauty products, trying different foods, and traveling to new places.

  • Ashton Tu

Ashton is a builder, maker, and problem solver. She’s motivated by systems-thinking and leveraging storytelling to develop and scale solutions. With a background in filmmaking, she spearheaded stories about neurodiverse and immigrant experiences, graduating from the University of Southern California’s School of Cinematic Arts.

She’s since jumped into the tech and startup world. At the onset of COVID-19, she co-founded a grassroots organization that connected food pantries to vulnerable populations. Currently, Ashton is a product design consultant, rethinking how processes and software can be used in the service of public good at the CDC.

Ashton is from California and spends her free time outdoors: running, backpacking, and camping. Her joy is volunteering and giving back; she’s beyond excited to go the second mile and see how God moves in NYC and beyond!

She pursued pharmacy as a way to be the hands and feet of Jesus, helping to care for the physical health of her patients while serving with compassion.

Brittney’s passion for service started in high school, where she’d volunteer upwards of 100 hours each summer, and continued through college, where she organized and led numerous outreach events. That same heart for service drives her today, and she is honored to be part of The Second Mile Project, working alongside like-minded women who are also committed to making a meaningful impact.

A Queens native, Brittney still loves exploring New York City in search of the best sweet treats. In her free time, she also enjoys reading and spending quality time with family and friends.

  • Laureli Tavarez

    SOCIAL MEDIA & COMMUNICATIONS

For as long as Laureli can remember, she has felt a profound calling from the Lord to actively live out her faith—to be His hands and feet in a world that so desperately needs His love. Faith, to her, has never been a passive experience but a call to action, a commitment to serve beyond what is comfortable or convenient.

The Second Mile Project embodies this very mission, making it the perfect place for her to step further into her purpose. As a college undergraduate pursuing a degree in Early Childhood Education and having worked with children for the past six years, she has witnessed firsthand the power of patience, compassion, and intentional kindness. She believes that small acts of love can create ripples of change, and through her work—both in education and service—she strives to reflect the heart of Jesus in every interaction, whether it’s a short prayer or a hug.

Being part of The Second Mile Project allows her to put her faith into action in a tangible and transformative way, right here in NYC. She is deeply committed to going beyond what is expected, to walking that second mile with those in need, and to embodying the gospel through service, humility, and love. Her prayer is that through her work, others will be moved to step into their own calling to serve, to love without limits, and to be the light in their communities.

  • Sarah Burgos

    SOCIAL MEDIA & COMMUNICATIONS

For as long as Sarah can remember, she’s had a heart for giving—but it wasn’t until she found Jesus that she truly understood her calling and identity as a child of God. After moving from a small town to New York City to attend fashion school, she quickly realized she was meant to be part of something greater—something that would shine God’s light in one of the world’s busiest cities.

Little did she know how powerfully God would move in her life, or the incredible community He would surround her with. Now, as a recent college graduate stepping into her career in the corporate fashion world, Sarah feels God has finally given her the green light to step out in faith and use her voice to call people to His Kingdom—right here in NYC.

Though her days are full between work and her church community, Sarah still finds joy in running, exploring the city, trying new restaurants (huge foodie!), and spending time with friends and family. Her heart is bursting with excitement for this project, and she’s ready to go the second mile—for Jesus, and for the people of New York City.

  • Nicole Tingle

    CREATIVE EVENTS

Nicole grew up in NH, and at 18 years old moved to NYC to pursue a degree in Childhood Education. She graduated from St. John's University and taught both first and second grade for 2.5 years. She is now currently an Educational Director at The Day School of Astoria and has been working in this role since 2022. She has a heart for children and absolutely loves all things that allow her to express her creativity. In her role she is able to express her creativity in planning community outreach, creating visually appealing media for the school, and helping plan events. She is also a part of the Women's Ministry Leadership Team at Movement Church and has helped plan events for that as well. She finds so much passion in both, hosting and planning these events for the people in her life and for work.

Through this she loves to see the cross connections of the people in her life and the friendships that form. It is her hope that through the Second Mile Project, many friendships are formed over the mutual desire to selflessly give back. Nicole currently still resides in NYC and spends a lot of her time with her friends that to her are like family, reading, writing, singing, etc. She will be getting married in the fall and hopes to do both individual women's ministry and couples ministry with her Fiance for years to come.

  • Isabel Mendoza

    SOCIAL MEDIA & COMMUNICATIONS

Isabel grew up in Austin, Texas where she was raised by parents who have always stressed the importance of serving others with a humble heart. She took that all the way to New York City, where she earned a degree in Musical Theatre Performance. However, Jesus called her into a different path, a path of trust, worship, and serving others.

On the daily, Isabel works for the Target Cooperation as a Service and Engagement Team Leader, where she manages a business and cultivates an encouraging and growth inspired work environment. She looks at each and every day as an opportunity to example the kindness, joy, and love of Christ to each and every person she interacts with! She believes that no matter how short of an interaction or how small of a gesture, together we can change the world. She lives by a quote her pastor recited on some random Sunday, “to change one life, is to change the world!”

Off the clock, Isabel loves spending a copious amount of time lifting weights and working out at the gym. Isabel’ balances that with her love to enrich her creative side. Whether that means baking a new sweet treat, curling up with a good book, junk journaling, or creating a new piece of art!
